Unable to display the body of large messages

Description

When trying to view an email with a body that is larger than 500k, an error message is displayed, and the content can not be retrieved.

I've entered this as a bug, because otherwise we'll forget about it.

Basic hackish fix for this in r89. This is going to need more head scratching to really fix properly.
